REMEMBERING MEDAL OF HONOR
RECIPIENT RALPH PUCKETT, JR.
Last week, we shared the passing of Medal of Honor Recipient Ralph Puckett, Jr., who was awarded the Medal of Honor for going above and beyond the call of duty during the Korean War.
Puckett was also a veteran of the Vietnam War. In addition to the Medal of Honor, he was also awarded two Distinguished Service Crosses, two Silver Stars, five Purple Hearts, and two Bronze Stars with “V” device for valor. After retiring as a colonel following a 22-year career in service, he remained an important figure among U.S. Army Rangers, serving as an “honorary colonel” for the 75th Ranger Regiment and regularly meeting with Rangers at Fort Moore, Georgia.
