“NEVER AGAIN WILL ONE GENERATION OF VETERANS ABANDON ANOTHER”

After Several years of compiling designs for Chapter 1145 Challenge Coin; it has been finally been ‘minted’.

This was accomplished through the support of our many Community Partners over the years

  • FRONT OF COIN
  • The Three Servicemen were added to the Memorial in 1984. The contrast between innocence of their youth and the weapons of war underscores their sacrifice. Their strength and vulnerability are evident.
  • BELL UH-1 One of the most iconic symbols of the Vietnam war is the Bell UH-1 “Huey” helicopter. Hueys served through the conflict as troop, cargo carriers and gunships with the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps To this day many veterans look skyward when they hear the “whop, whop” of a helicopter. Taking them back in time to another life.
  • AND the Nurses…..Unbelievable stress from the amount of patients they had to serve, anger at seeing young men and women so horribly wounded and guilt at not  being able to save all the wounded men or make then whole again. They are truly angels!!
  • REAR OF COIN
  • C47 gunship (“PUFF” or “Spooky”) firing at night. During the Vietnam War, C-47’s serve as designed and also as the first gunship. The AC-47  was fitted with 7.62 mm miniguns . The weapons fired up to 6,000 round per minute. The aircraft carried 54,000 rounds Many of the  countries’ Armed Forces are reminiscent of seeing “Puff’ at night spewing red tracer rounds and are eternally grateful for the support.

The lasting legacy of Vietnam Veterans – the Vietnam war was a pivotal moment in America History. Leaving an indelible mark on the nation and its people. The legacy of Vietnam Veterans extends far beyond their military service. They have made significant contributions to American Society, from politics, business, art and culture. We continue to honor the legacy of Vietnam Veterans; we honor their memory by continuing to work towards a more just society. We remember their sacrifices, celebrate their achievements.

Always grateful and remembering those Armed Forces in support of the war based in Guam, Thailand, Europe, e.t.c.
