Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 982 recently held a heartfelt rededication ceremony for a relocated Vietnam memorial in Guadalupe, California. The plaque now stands as a tribute to three local heroes — Michael Peter Pagaling, Phillip Hernandez, and Arturo Carrasco — who courageously served and gave their lives in Vietnam in 1969.

Chapter 982 President Richard “Deek” Segovia shared, “Growing up in Guadalupe — in a small community — we were all family. It fills my heart to finally do this and give them a final resting place [that] belongs to them.”

More than 200 residents of Guadalupe served in the Vietnam War, leaving a lasting legacy of service and sacrifice. This ceremony reminds us that the bonds of community and the spirit of service endure through generations.
